Greenways Master Plan
The Greenways System already provides some of the most beautiful and treasured recreational opportunities in the area, and is increasingly making our region a tourism destination. This project would provide funding to help complete the Greenways Master Plan. Completion of the Greenways Master Plan would increase public access to these lands while preserving the environmental integrity of wetlands and other protected features. The total length of all proposed trails is approximately 139 miles (78 miles within unincorporated Leon County and 61 miles within the City of Tallahassee).
Facilitates public access to approximately 7,460 acres of conservation lands purchased since 1993 under the Greenways Program.
Adds approximately 139 miles of new trails and expansion of existing trails in support of the approved master plan by County and City Commissions.
Connects parks to neighborhoods, schools, and shopping areas.
Estimated Cost: $20 million
Integrated with the proposed Bicycle Route System.
